DESCRIPTION:We love our high streets and the local people who make them vibrant and inviting.\nAs a part of our 2021 events programme to make Finchley Central Town Centre a community\ndestination\, we are looking for visual artists and illustrators based in Finchley Central and Barnet to participate in a high street art trail.\nIt is clear that Finchley has a wonderful community of creative individuals and a variety of diverse shops and restaurants along the high street. Through this art trail\, we would like to highlight and celebrate both.\nThe Finchley Central arts trail aims to support both local artists and businesses through the\nexhibition of artworks in participating high street shops\, increasing footfall to the businesses and giving local artists exposure through the display of their work in shops\, which are listed in a physical and downloadable art trail map.\nWe will be curating and selecting a few pieces to be displayed within participating businesses on the high street in December 2021 until early next spring 2021. \nJoin us on the 4th of December to grab a map of the art trail and participate.

SUMMARY:Finchley Central Winter Fair
DESCRIPTION:make:good has been commissioned by Barnet Council to make real the ambition of an events programme to activate Finchley Central Town Centre through a series of pilot activities. \n This events pilot will test out the popular idea of a market in Albert Place. The Winter Fair idea was initiated by the Finchley Town Team and echoed with feedback from local people at a series of on street pop ups. Testing this will inform the possibility of running a multicultural food tasting market event in the Spring. \n The choice of stalls and activities for the Winter Fair have been curated to emphasise and embed the Finchley Identity themes of ‘Connection to Nature & Sustainability ’ and ‘Diversity and Multiculturalism’ and ‘Creativity.’ \n Instead of a traditional market selling only products and food (which already exists in Finchley Central)\, the Winter fair will offer a variety of activities and workshops\, alongside stalls offering refreshments and carefully chosen products. \n The Winter Fair will also highlight the activity of local individuals and businesses who will run winter themed workshops and will harness High Street shops and restaurants to extend the winter fair theme along the High Street. \nCome along and join us !
