Finchley Central Winter Fair
make:good has been commissioned by Barnet Council to make real the ambition of an events programme to activate Finchley Central Town Centre through a series of pilot activities.
This events pilot will test out the popular idea of a market in Albert Place. The Winter Fair idea was initiated by the Finchley Town Team and echoed with feedback from local people at a series of on street pop ups. Testing this will inform the possibility of running a multicultural food tasting market event in the Spring.
The choice of stalls and activities for the Winter Fair have been curated to emphasise and embed the Finchley Identity themes of ‘Connection to Nature & Sustainability ’ and ‘Diversity and Multiculturalism’ and ‘Creativity.’
Instead of a traditional market selling only products and food (which already exists in Finchley Central), the Winter fair will offer a variety of activities and workshops, alongside stalls offering refreshments and carefully chosen products.
The Winter Fair will also highlight the activity of local individuals and businesses who will run winter themed workshops and will harness High Street shops and restaurants to extend the winter fair theme along the High Street.
